Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (also known as TCM), has been around for millennia and is anywhere from 2,000-5,000 years old. We don’t know specifically how old it is because it predates written record. It became popular in the USA in the 1970’s when President Richard Nixon went to China and witnessed the use of this ancient medicine himself.

TCM incorporates the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition through correct food choices, (this includes eating seasonally), qi gong, and many other techniques to return the patient to a state of balance and optimal health. It is also a good choice for prevention, as it is one of the few medicines that can keep a person in a state of homeostasis or internal balance.

Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine look at the person as a whole to see where there are imbalances in the organ systems, energetic meridians systems, emotions and spirit. We see the relationship between all of these to create a treatment plan to return our patients to glowing good health.
